Bartolo Colon Suspended, AL MLB & MLS Scores: 8/23, Vol. 213, 1st Edition

Take me to the King, I don’t have much to bring; my heart and soul in pieces, is my offering! Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you it yesterday! I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Here We Go!

The 2012 Little League World Series had two on the small diamond yesterday as Japan used solid pitching and strong bats to out power Panama 4-1 and with Cole Carter’s RBI single, it provided Tennessee the 4-3 victory over Texas.
Major League Baseball was jammed packed with 16 total games as I kick off the scores in the American League with the Toronto Blue Jays losing by a run to the Detroit Tigers 3-2, the LA Angels trounced the Boston Red Sox 7-3 with a homer from Howard Kendrick, the New York Yankees was defeated by the Chicago White Sox 2-1 as Chris Sales struck out 13 batters, the Baltimore Orioles were literally spanked by the Texas Rangers 12-3 as Adrian Beltre hit not one, not two, but three homeruns, while the Kansas City Royals got played by the Tampa Bay Rays 5-3 as James Shields struck out 7, the Minnesota Twins were hammered by the Oakland A’s 5-1 as Coco Crisp was on fire with a homerun, an RBI double and 3 runs scored and the Cleveland Indians lost 3-1 to the Seattle Mariners as Michael Saunders belts his 14th homer.
Major League Soccer had two games on the grass last night as the Columbus Crew got past Toronto FC 2-1 and DC United cruised to a victory over the Chicago Fire 4-2.
Either Major League Baseball has a major doping problem, as indicated by the Godfather of Steroids Victor Conti or Major League Baseball’s random and routine drug testing is working efficiently.  In either case, for the second time in a week, another player is suspended for violating the MLB’s performance enhancing drug policy and yet again for testosterone.  Oakland A’s pitcher and former Cy Young Award winner Bartolo Colon was suspended for 50 games for basically cheating.  Colon will miss the remaining 40 games and if the A’s advanced far enough in the playoffs, he will miss 10 games.  Colon released a statement via the players association that read “I apologize to the fans, to my teammates and to the Oakland A's and I accept responsibility for my actions and I will serve my suspension as required by the joint drug program.”  Hmmmm…….a standard statement crafted by the players association since it sound like the one Melky Cabrera released.  So the $80,000 dollar question is, are they sincere??

NFL w/ Vince Young's $1,000,000 Loan, Steven Domalewski & NL MLB Scores: 8/23, Vol. 213, 2nd Edition

Hallelujah is the highest praise; in advance we praise You for Your rain.  We exalt You for we're not ashamed, we adore and magnify Your name!  Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.!

Steve  Domalewski receives a
          $14.5 million dollar settlement
The National League in Major League Baseball had plenty of excitement last night as the Pittsburgh Pirates couldn’t handle the San Diego Padres and lost 4-2 with 3 RBI’s from Carlos Quentin, the Atlanta Braves pounded the Washington Nationals 5-1 as Kris Medlen was 7 for 7, 7 strikeouts in 7 innings, the Cincinnati Reds got past the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 as Jay Bruce homered for the 26th time, the Colorado Rockies handled the New York Mets 5-2 as Willin Rosario hit his 20th homer, while the Houston Astros did what they do best, they lost 4-2 to the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals despite 2 homers from 2 Astros, the San Francisco Giants powered past the LA Dodgers 8-4 Joaquin Arias launched a homerun to assist the Giants in the series sweep, the Chicago Cubs lost by one measly run to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 as Ryan Braun blasted his NL leading 34th homerun and the Miami Marlins also lost by one measly run 3-2 to the Arizona Diamondbacks as Aaron Hill went yard in game 1 and in the double-header game, the Arizona Diamondbacks SHUT OUT the Miami Marlins 3-0.
In sporting news, Steven Domalewski, was pitching in 2006 when he was hit in the chest at the precise millisecond between heartbeats causing a cardiac arrest that ultimately left the teenager brain damaged.  On Wednesday morning, some six years later at the age of 18, his parents were awarded $14.5 million dollars in a settlement against the bat manufacturer, Little League Baseball and a sporting goods chain, ensuring Steven will receive lifelong care as he is not able to perform functions of daily life on his own.
For your NFL Quick Hits, the New Orleans Saints made the official announcement that offensive line coach Aaron Kromer will take over as head coach for the first six games of the regular season, Dallas Cowboys doctors informed tight end Jason Witten he will not need spleen surgery that would have ended his season, according to a source familiar with the situation, arguably Cleveland Brown's best defensive player, Joe Haden was kicked off the practice field Wednesday by coach Pat Shurmur, who felt the third-year cornerback was being too physical with rookie wide receiver Travis Benjamin during a passing drill on the final day of workouts open to fans, Steve Smith was on crutches after being treated for what the Carolina Panthers described as a left foot infection and is being treated with antibiotics, a fight is brewing between the NFL and insurers over who will pay to defend the league against former players' lawsuits over head injuries, with the league and carriers now squaring off in cases on each coast, defensive tackle Curley Culp and linebacker Dave Robinson have been chosen by the Pro Football Hall of Fame's seniors committee as finalists for election into the class of 2013, and finally, Vince Young is seeking a protective court order to stop a company from collecting nearly $1.7 million on a loan the Buffalo quarterback says he has no knowledge of ever taking out and added he doesn't recall agreeing to or signing documents to take out the loan. Now, most people remember borrowing $100, $500 or even a $1,000 dollars, but how you forget borrowing over $1,000,000.00 dollars…….huh?!
