UFC 151 Canceled, Lance Armstrong Stripped, Little League & MLB Scores & NBA News: 8/24, Vol. 214, 1st Edition

Truth is I’m tired and options are few; I’m trying to pray, but where are you? I’m all churched out, hurt and abused, I can’t fake it, so what’s left to do? Take me to the King, I don’t have much to bring, my heart and soul in pieces is my offering. Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you it yesterday! I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Here We Go!
Lance Armstrong will no longer
fight doping allegations and will
be stripped of tour titles
The 2012 Little League rolled on yesterday as Mexico lost by one run to Panama 2-1 as Edisson Gonzalez tossed 11 K’s, while James Gonzalez belted a 2 run homer in the 1st inning and Hance Smith blasted 2 homers, one being a Grand Slam in the 1st inning as California literally spanked San Antonio, Texas 11-1 with only five innings of work put in.
The American League in Major League Baseball only had four games on tap last night as the Toronto Blue Jays needed 11 innings but came up a weeeeeee bit short against the Detroit Tigers and lost 3-2 as Austin Jackson’s spectacular diving catch kept them in the game and Alex Avila’s RBI single eventually won it, in an old fashion slug fest with 27 total runs scored, the LA Angels eked out a one run win against the Boston Red Sox 14-13 in 10 innings as with homerun from Kendrys Morales in the 10th, the Oakland A’s were SHUT OUT and stung by the Tampa Bay Rays 5-0 as Alex Cobb pitches a complete four hit game striking out 8 along the way and the Minnesota Twins were lambasted by the Texas Rangers 10-6 as Josh Hamilton drove in 5 runs.
In breaking news in Mixed Martial Arts last night, UFC 151, which was scheduled for September 1 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, has been canceled after an injury to the light heavyweight contender Dan Henderson forced him to pull out of the main event against champion Jon Jones.  UFC President Dana White tried to prevent from canceling an event for the first time in 11 years by finding a replacement and Chael Sonnen, did indeed agree to fight on eight days’ notice started running his yap-yap as usual, after Jones did not agree to fight on eight days’ notice.
In other late night breaking news as announced on my Twitter page @ceejaysports, The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said Thursday night it will strip Lance Armstrong of his unprecedented seven Tour de France titles after he declared he was finished fighting the drug charges that threaten his legacy as one of the greatest cyclists of all time. Armstrong who won seven consecutive Tour de France titles still maintains his innocence and release a statement that read in part “There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning my seven Tours since 1999. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a two-year federal criminal investigation followed by Travis Tygart's unconstitutional witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense.”
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, the Sacramento Kings owners,  Joe, Gavin and George Maloof, all have denied a report that the team is in talks to move to Virginia Beach, VA, but have been approached by several cities to have the team relocated to their perspective city, the Boston Celtics announced Wednesday evening they have officially signed forward Jeff Green, ending more than a month of speculation over his contract status, free-agent swingman Martell Webster has agreed to terms on a new contract with the Washington Wizards, according to sources with knowledge of the deal and finally, Dwayne Wade compared his teammate LeBron James with Michael Jordan, the company that puts shoes on his feet and dollars in his pockets, to a golf course as Jordan is on the 18th hole and James is around the 4th hole, but has a chance to get there.  Great analogy D-Wade.

at The Barclays
The National League also had a lighter schedule with only four games in Major League Baseball as the Colorado Rockies SHUT OUT the New York Mets 1-0 to get the series sweep, the Houston Astros were leading by 4 runs early in 4th inning, but of course, they found an innovative way to do what they do best…..lose, as they went on to be literally spanked 13-5 by the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals as David Freese knocks in his 14th homer, the Cincinnati Reds lost 4-3 in 11 innings to the Philadelphia Phillies as John Mayberry, Jr drives in the winning run and the Atlanta Braves were defeated by the San Francisco Giants 5-2.
The Barclays at Bethpage State Park putted off yesterday as Padraig Harrington is sitting atop the leaderboard with a 7 under par, while Nick Watney and Brian Harman are 1 shot back and a host of golfers are two shots back tied for 4th.
For your NFL Quick Hits, Cleveland Browns first-round pick Trent Richardson is expected to play in the team's regular-season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter,  NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says possibly using replacement referees for regular-season games is worthwhile to ensure long-term improvements to officiating,  and finally, Tennessee Titans cornerback Jason McCourty has signed a contract five contract extension worth $43 million, including $20 million in guaranteed money and bonuses.
