Norte Dame To ACC, MLB 2013 Interleague, NL MLB & MLS Scores: 9/13, Vol. 228, 2nd Edition

I searched all over, couldn’t find nobody, I look high and low, still couldn’t find nobody, nobody greater, nobody greater no, nobody greater than you!  Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.!

The Irish takes their good
          luck to the ACC
The National League in Major League Baseball put on a show last night as 8 games took place on the diamond starting with the Miami Marlins losing to the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1 with the 19th homer from Jimmy Rollins, the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals lost to the San Diego Padres 3-2 as Logan Forsythe homered, the Pittsburgh Pirates lost again to the Cincinnati Reds 2-1, the Washington Nationals SHUT OUT the New York Mets 2-0 as Ryan Zimmerman launches his 22nd homer, the Chicago Cubs blasted the Houston Astros 5-1 with  Alfonso Soriano’s 29th homer, while the Atlanta Braves was manhandled by the Milwaukee Brewers 8-2 with Rickie Weeks’ 19th homer, the San Francisco Giants crushed the Colorado Rockies 8-3 as Tim Lincecum struck out 8 batters and the LA Dodgers continue to lose with their newly acquired players 3-2 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Major League Soccer had one game last night a Toronto FC lost 1-2 to the Chicago Fire.
In sporting news, the Big East has lost a BIG one as Norte Dame will move all of its sports, well all non-football sports to the Atlantic Coast Conference by 2014.  Now the Irish will still maintain their independent status in football however, they will play five games annually against ACC schools.  With Norte Dame’s departure, they are required to pay a $5 million exit fee and provide the Big East with a 27 months’ notice of their departure.  On the other hand, the ACC made a huge exception to its all or nothing policy for schools to be full members, but I guess if the school has enough clout, such as Norte Dame, you side step your own requirements.
For your Major League Quick Swings, Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre was taken out of the team's 5-2 win on Wednesday's against the Cleveland Indians in the top of the fifth inning with a left shoulder strain and one of baseball's traditional home openers will have an innovative twist next season as the Cincinnati Reds will host the Los Angeles Angels on April 1, becoming the first teams to start their seasons with an interleague match-up.
