Clay Matthews flexing after
another sack of Jay Cutler
The National Football League kicked off its Thursday Night Football with the oldest rivalry in the league as the Green Bay Packers faced off against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field and the game began with both defenses doing their part in denying the other with a score. But in the 2nd quarter, the Packers facing a 4th down and 26 yards to go hit the Bears with some trickery as they faked a field goal to get the 1st TD of the night and my lovely bride said that play was an ESPN Top 10 and she was right as it was #1.  The Bears quarterback Jay Cutler had miserable night as he was sacked 7 times and to go along with 4 picks….ouch and the Packers went on to dominate the Bears 23-10.
There was on game on the Grid Iron in college football as the Big East showcased Rutgers and South Florida as Rutgers was the team to get the spotlight as Jawan Jamison was a beast with the rock as he carried the ball 41 times, a school record and achieved 151 ground pounding yards and one TD and Tim Wright chipped in 125 receiving yards as Rutgers outmuscled South Florida 23-13.
The National League in Major League Baseball only had two games on the diamond as the Philadelphia Phillies was defeated by Houston Astros 6-4 as Matt Dominguez homered and on a side note, even though the Astros have the worst record in the league, they do have a lot of fight in them and the defending champs St. Louis Cardinals edged out the LA Dodgers 2-1.
