The National Football League kicked off a Week 2 Sunday filled with some phenomenal football as I kick off Round 1 of your scores as the Buffalo Bills shook off their 1st loss last week to manhandle the Kansas City Chiefs this 35-17 as C. J. Spiller, no relation, rushed for 123 yards notched 2 TD’s, the Cincinnati Bengals powered past the Cleveland Browns 34-27 as Andy Dalton was solid with 318 passing yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s, Andrew Luck got his first NFL win as the Indianapolis Colts knocked off the Minnesota Vikings as he passed for 224 yards and 2 scores, the Miami Dolphins literally spanked the Oakland Raiders 35-13 as Reggie Bush ran outside his mind for 172 yards and 2 TD’s, while the Arizona Cardinals are undefeated after they UPSET the New England Patriots 20-18 as the Cardinals defense held the Patriots in check by sacking Tom Brady four times, the Tampa Buccaneers were outmuscled by the New York Football Giants 41-34 as Eli Manning had a tale of two half’s throwing 3 picks in the 1st half and throwing over 200 yards in the 4th quarter alone as he had a total of 510 yards and not one, not two but three TD’s and Hakeem Nicks caught 199 of those yards with 1 TD and the Baltimore Ravens lost by one measly point to the Philadelphia Eagles despite a plethora of turnovers as Michael Vick passed for 371 yards, 2 TD’s and ran for a touchdown, but most importantly made all the right decision with the game on the line.

NASCAR kicked off the version of the playoffs at Chicagoland Speedway as Brad Keselowski got ahead of Jimmie Johnson with 35 laps remaining after a pit stop and went on to take the checkered flag for his 1st Chase win and also now leads in the point’s standings.  The aforementioned Jimmie Johnson finished 2nd, Tony Stewart placed 3rd, while Denny Hamlin, Kasey Kahne and Clint Bowyer all finished tied for 4th. 
Major League Baseball’s American League had seven games on the diamond yesterday as the New York Yankees got the win over the Tampa Bay Rays 6-4 as Russell Martin launches his 17th homer, the Boston Red Sox were SHUT OUT and trounced by the Toronto Blue Jays 5-0, the LA Angels eked out the one run win against the Kansas City Royals 4-3 as Mark Trumbo knocks out his 31st homer, the Chicago White Sox demolished the Minnesota Twins 9-2 with the help of Adam Dunn’s 39th homerun, while the Detroit Tigers lost by a run 7-6 to the Cleveland Indians as Carlos Santana lead off the rally in the 9th, the Seattle Mariners lost to the Texas Rangers 2-1 as Matt Harrison gets his 17th victory and the Baltimore Orioles ran away from the Oakland A’s 9-5 as Matt Wieters homered twice to help the O’s clinch their first winning season since 1997.
Week 3 has come to a conclusion in college football and since there were some UPSETS on Saturday, there was a little shuffling to take place in the AP Top 10 as Alabama still sits in the Kings Chair at #1 and since USC was UPSET by Stanford, LSU reclaims the 2nd spot, Oregon moves up one spot to #3, Florida State climbed up two spots to settle in at #4, Georgia also climbed up two spots to claim 5th, while Oklahoma was idle dropped one spot to 6th, South Carolina moved up to 7th from 8th, West Virginia came up one spot to #8, as mentioned earlier, since Stanford UPSET USC, they moved up from another zip code from 21st to 9th and Clemson cracked the Top 10 by climbing up one spot from 11th.  Lastly, here are the teams that dropped and crashed completely out of the rankings, 13th ranked Virginia Tech, 23rd ranked Tennessee and 25th ranked BYU.

For your Round 2 of scores in the National Football League, the New Orleans Saints lost their 2nd game of the season after being crushed by the Carolina Panthers 35-27 as Cam Newton threw for 253 yards and a TD and ran for 71 yards with another TD, the Houston Texans clawed up the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-7 with 110 yards from running back Adrian Foster to go along with a 1 TD, the Washington Redskins was defeated by the St. Louis Rams 31-28 as Sam Bradford passed for 310 yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s, the Dallas Cowboys had their stars rung 27-7 by the Seattle Seahawks as Marshawn Lynch carried the rock for 122 yards and a TD, while the New York Jets offense wasn’t as potent yesterday as last week as they were dominated by the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-10 with 275 yards by quarterback Ben Rothlisberger and 2 TD’s, the Tennessee Titans was demolished by the San Diego Chargers 38-10 as Philip Rivers was money with 284 yards and 3 TD’s and in the Sunday night featured game, the San Francisco 49er’s kept rolling with their 2nd win as they defeated the Detroit Lions 27-19 as Alex Smith passed for 226 yards and 2 scores.
The National League in Major League Baseball were swinging their bats on Sunday as 11 innings were needed for the Cincinnati Reds won by run over the Miami Marlins 5-4, the Houston Astros are trying to show out as they won two games in a row for only the 2nd time this season against the Philadelphia Phillies 7-6 with 4 runs in the 7th, the New York Mets were SHUT OUT 3-0 by the Milwaukee Brewers as Ryan Bruan homered twice, the Chicago Cubs out swung the Pittsburgh Pirates 13-3 as Anthony Rizzo homered twice, the Colorado Rockies lost by a run 12-11 to the San Diego Padres with Chase Headley’s 28th homer, while the LA Dodgers needed 12 innings to notch the win over the defending champs St. Louis Cardinals 5-2 with 3 runs scored in the 12th, the Arizona Diamondbacks literally spanked the San Francisco Giants 10-2 as starting pitcher Patrick Corbin got the win along with 4 RBI’s and the Washington Nationals were blasted by the Atlanta Braves 5-1.
The Wonderful Women of the WNBA, alliteration, I love it, had four games on the yesterday as the Tulsa Shock literally shocked the San Antonio Silver Stars 80-70 led by Temeka Johnson’s double double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, the New York Liberty got past the Washington Mystics 75-68 as Cappie Pondexter rallied her team in the 4th to go to light up the nets for 30 points and 11 boards, the Chicago Sky literally spanked the Phoenix Mercury 86-55 as Shay Murphy scored a career high of 22 points and the Connecticut Sun squeezed by the Seattle Storm 60-58 as Renee Montgomery sunked2 free throws with 14.4 seconds left in the game.

The LPGA wrapped their Ricoh Women’s British Open as Jiyai Shin had no competition as she ran away with her 2nd Open Title with a -9 under par and Inbee Park finished E par for 2nd……told you she ran away! Huh?!
