NL MLB Scores w/ Adam Greenberg & Mike McQuery Files Lawsuit: 10/3, Vol. 240, 2nd Edition

There were dangers awaiting me, destruction was sure to be; but thank God for Angels that were shielding, protecting and looking out for me!  God blocked it and He wouldn’t let it be so!  Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.!

Adam Greenberg got his 2nd chance
in Major League Baseball
The National League in the MLB was saying hey batter, batter, batter, batter swing as the Philadelphia Phillies were defeated by the Washington Nationals 4-2 as Adam LaRoche homered for the 33rd time, the Atlanta Braves were crushed by the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-1 as Garrett Jones went yard for the 27th time, the New York Mets were defeated by the Miami Marlins 4-3 in 11 innings as R. A. Dickey wasn’t allowed his 21st win and on a side note, Adam Greenberg was signed to a one day contract by the Marlins after Greenberg’s only plate appearance since 2005 when he was hit in the head by a pitch that derailed his major league career, but he struck out, I really don’t know what’s going on a Minute Maid Park but the Houston Astros SHUT OUT the Chicago Cubs 3-0 for the 2nd night in row, the San Diego Padres lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 as Martin Maldonado belted a Grand Slam, while the Cincinnati Reds notched the win over the defending champs St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 with a homer from Scott Rolen, the Colorado Rockies couldn’t handle the Arizona Diamondbacks and lost 5-3 as Aaron Hill launches his 26th homer and the San Francisco Giants got past the LA Dodgers 4-3 with the 24th homer from Buster Posey.

In sporting news, Mike McQuery, the former Penn State graduate assistant who testified that he witnessed Jerry Sandusky showering with a young boy in 2001, has filed a defamation lawsuit against the university.  The whistle-blower lawsuit claims that as a result on how the university treated him after Sandusky was arrested, it basically caused him distress, anxiety, humiliation and embarrassment and he is seeking millions of dollars in damages.

Kate Douglas led the Indiana Fever
over the Atlanta Dream to the
Eastern Conference Finals
The ladies win WNBA had two games in which you either win or go home as the Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever were tied 1-1 in a Game 3 clinching series in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals as Kate Douglas of the Fever was ballin’ with 24 points and her teammate Erlana Larkins put up a gigantic double-double with 16 points and 20 glass grabbing rebounds as they helped the Fever advance to the Eastern Conference Finals 75-64 over the Dream and will face the Connecticut Sun on Friday and the Seattle Storm and the defending champs Minnesota Lynx also faced a must win Game 3 in the Western Conference Semi-Finals as this game was much closer as Lauren Jackson of the Storm last second shot rimmed off and the Lynx, in the words of their coach Cheryl Reeves, survived and advanced behind 21 points from Seimone Augustus, 20 points from Maya Moore and 16 points and 9 boards from Rebekkah Brunson as the Lynx escape with a win over the Storm 73-72 and will match up against the LA Sparks on Thursday in the Western Conference Finals.

Major League Baseball had plethora of games in both leagues as I start with the American League as 12 innings were needed to decide winner between the Chicago Whites Sox and the Cleveland Indians as the Indians got the one run win 4-3 as Shin-Soo Choo launched his 16th homer, another 12 innings worth of baseball was needed as the Boston Red Sox lost to the New York Yankees 4-3 with as Raul Ibanez tied the game in the 9th and then provided a RBI single in the 12th to give the Yankees a one game lead over the Baltimore Orioles as Orioles SHUT OUT the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0 despite James Shields having a career night with 15 K’s, the Minnesota Twins lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 as Chad Jenkins earns his 1st career win, while the Detroit Tigers was defeated by the Kansas City Royals 4-2 with the 16th homer from Jeff Francoeur, the Texas Rangers lost to the Oakland A’s 3-1 as the Athletics tie for 1st in the AL West and the LA Angels were pounded the Seattle Mariners 6-1 with the 20th homer from Kyle Seager.
