                            The National Basketball Association had a plethora of games that tipped off last night as I kick off this segment with Round 1 Scores as the Phoenix Suns knocked off the Charlotte Bobcats 117-100 as Shannon Brown drowned 6 3 pointers in the 4th quarter to finished with 24 points, the Washington Wizards needed overtime but was still sidelined by the Boston Celtics 100-94 as Kevin Garnett put up a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards while his point guard Rajon Rondo past out 14 dimes, the Indiana Pacers lost by 3 against the Atlanta Hawks 89-86 as the Hawks used an 18-0 run to outpaced the Pacers and Al Horford finished with 16 points, the Brooklyn Nets was literally spanked by the defending champion Miami Heat as Dwayne Wade had a game high of 22 points, while the Memphis Grizzlies demolished the Milwaukee Bucks 108-90 as Zach Randolph and Marreese Speights each scored 18 points and the Grizz shot 53% from the field, it was ugly, but the Philadelphia 76er’s claimed the victory 77-62 over the New Orleans Hornets as Jrue Holiday netted 14 points and gave away 12 dimes and the Denver Nuggets put together a two game win streak when they held off the Houston Rockets 93-87 with 21 points from Ty Lawson.

                     For your NBA Quick Dribbles, the Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday that one-time All-Star forward Danny Granger is expected to miss up to three months after receiving an injection in his left knee to treat patellar tendinosis, on Tuesday, the MSG Network said it would take down all posters associated with its recent advertising campaign, which generated buzz but also was considered controversial, and finally, rookie Tyler Zeller sustained a concussion and broken cheekbone and center Anderson Varejao bruised his right knee in the first quarter of a game against the LA Clippers and it is not known when both will return.

             For Round 2 of your NBA Scores, my home city Orlando Magic were crushed by the Minnesota Timberwolves 90-75 as Luke Ridnour had a game high of 19 points, the Toronto Raptors lost by 3 to the Dallas Mavericks as O. J. Mayo and Chris Kaman each poured in 22 points as they propel the Mavs to their 3rd straight victory, my LA Lakers on the other hand, are going the opposite direction as they were defeated by the Utah Jazz 95-86 as Al Jefferson put up a double-double with 18 points and 10 boards, while the Detroit Pistons lost by 2 to the Sacramento Kings 105-103 with DeMarcus Cousins 21 points and 11 rebounds, the San Antonio Spurs were lambasted by the LA Clippers 106-84 with 22 points and 10 boards from Blake Griffin, 20 points and 11 boards from DeAndre Jordan and 10 points and 12 assists from Chris Paul….wow, what a trio threat and the Cleveland Cavaliers were put on ice by the Golden State Warriors 106-96 as with David Lee’s powerful game of 22 points and 14 dominating rebounds.

             The was on college football that played out on the Grid Iron as Mid-American Conference showcased their teams for the second night in a row as Bowling Green and Ohio were vying to break the 4-1 conference tie to pull in front of the other, but Bowling Green was the one to step up to the plate as they walloped Ohio 26-14 with 181 breaking tackles yards and 2 TD’s from running back Anthon Samuel.

             Major League Soccer had two playoff games on the long field as the Houston Dynamo were SHUT OUT by Sporting Kansas City 1-0 and the LA Galaxy pounded the San Jose Earthquakes 3-1.

The Wishbone Creator,
              Darrel Royal passes away at
               the age of 88
The Wishbone Offense will be laid to rest as the creator of the offense, Darrell Royal, longtime football coach at the University of Texas, passed away at the age of 88.  Royal, who is Texas’ all-time winningest coach at 167-47-5, won two national championships, 11 Southwest Conference titles and 10 Cotton Bowls and with 23 year invested at Texas, he never had a losing season.  In 1983, Royal was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and 1996 the football stadium was renamed after him titled the Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium.  May God rest his soul in peace.
