            Since there was major upsets in college football over the weekend, it resulted in some seismic shuffling in the BCS Rankings as Norte Dame is #1 for the first time and Alabama with their one loss, climbed back into title contention from 4th to 2nd, Georgia settles in at #3 and Florida jumped two spots to 4th, Oregon who was UPSET fell from #2 to #5 and Kansas State who was also UPSET dropped from 1st in the BCS Rankings to 6th, while LSU stayed steady at #7, Stanford made a huge leap from 13th to 8th after defeating USC, Texas A&M actually dropped one spot to 9th, even though they won over the weekend and Florida State remained at #10.

            For your Olympic Sporting News, four-time overall World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn resumed her giant slalom training Sunday after being out of the hospital just a few days, American speed skater Heather Richardson won the women's 1,000 meters at the first World Cup meet of the season Sunday, and finally, The World Anti-Doping Agency wants to double suspensions for all doping cheats from two years to four years and the proposal is included in a new draft code that will be reviewed in December and must be approved next year, but would not actually take effect until 2015.

            Round 2 of your NFL scores includes the Tampa Bay Bucs using overtime to get past the Carolina Panthers 27-21 as Josh Freeman had 248 yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s, the Houston Texans had their hands full against the Jacksonville Jaguars but held to get the overtime time win 43-37 with 527 passing yards from Matt Schaub and count ‘em uno, dos, tres, quarto, cinco TD’s, the New Orleans Saints trounced the Oakland Raiders 38-17 as Drew Brees passed for 219 yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s, while the Denver Broncos edged out the San Diego Chargers 30-23 with three TD’s from Peyton Manning and 270 yards, the Indianapolis Colts where whipped, walloped and whacked, alliteration, I Love It, by the New England Patriots 59-24 with three TD’s from Tom Brady and 331 yards, and the Baltimore Ravens held off the Pittsburgh Steelers 13-10 as Jacoby Jones had the only TD as he ran a punt return back for 63 yards.

            It was down to the final playoff race of the year for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Title at Homestead-Miami Speedway and the race was pretty much between five time NASCAR Champion in Jimmy Johnson and Brad Keselwoski who was 20 points ahead in the standings and only needed to finish 15th to capture the his first title and he did just that and provided renowned owner Roger Penske his first NASCAR championship.  The actual race was won by Jeff Gordon who beat out the guy he intentionally crashed last week, Clint Bowyer.

            The National Football League had some excitement of their own as I provide your Round One Scores as the Atlanta Falcons got back in the win column when they managed to get past the Arizona Cardinals 23-19 despite Matt Ryan’s throwing 5 interceptions, the Dallas Cowboys rallied past the Cleveland Browns in overtime 23-20 as Dan Bailey’s field goal sealed the deal, the Green Bay Packers needed a touchdown toss from Aaron Rodgers with 1:55 left in the game to win their 5th consecutive game overall over the Detroit Lions 24-20, while the Kansas City Chiefs are begging for the season to over as they were demolished by the Cincinnati Bengals 28-6 as Andy Dalton had 230 passing yards and 2 TD’s, the New York Jets rammed the St. Louis Rams 27-13 as Marc Sanchez was efficient with 178 passing yards and a score and the Philadelphia Eagles were literally spanked by the Washington Redskins 31-6 as Robert Griffin, III tossed count ‘em uno, dos, tres, quarto TD’s and completed 14 of 15 passes for 200 yards.

            The National Basketball Association had eight games on tap as give you Round One of scores as the New York Knicks outpaced the Indiana Pacers 88-78 with 26 points from Carmelo Anthony, my home city Orlando Magic were magic-less against the Toronto Raptors as they lost 97-86 with 20 dimes from Jose Calderon, the Cleveland Cavaliers were defeated by the Philadelphia 76’ers 89-76 as Evan Turner turned in 19 points and the Brooklyn Nets knocked off the Sacramento Kings 99-90 with 22 points from Andre Blatche.

           Men’s College Basketball had several ranked teams in action as 2nd ranked literally smacked Miami of Ohio upside the head 80-39, 4th ranked Ohio State defeated Washington 77-66, unranked Oklahoma State got the UPSET win against 6th ranked North Carolina State 76-56, while 8th ranked Syracuse dominated Wagner 88-57, 9th Duke went on a 30-0 run to muscle past Florida Gulf Coast and 15th ranked Creighton lambasted Presbyterian 87-58 in Round One scores in Men’s College Basketball.
