Monday Night Football & NBA Scores & NBA Quick Dribbles w/ LeBron James: 12/4, Vol. 281, 1st Edition

We lift our hands in the sanctuary…we lift our hands to give You the glory. We lift our hands to give You the praise and we will praise You for the rest of our days!  Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you heard it the last time you heard it…..I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Let’s Get It Started!

I...almost...had...him as RG3 did what
he does in the win over the Giants
in Monday Night Football
Monday Night Football featured two elite quarterbacks in their own rite as two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning led his New York ‘Football’ Giants into the nation’s capital to face off against rookie QB phenom Robert Griffin, III aka RG3 and his Washington Redskins and the Giants would score first with a field goal and the Skin’s answered with a TD that Joshua Morgan picked up after RG3 fumbled the ball.  The 2nd quarter had the Giants scoring twice off a TD and a field goal as the led 13-10 at halftime.  In the 2nd half, the Giants picked up where they left off by kicking a field goal in the 3rd quarter, but a TD pass from RG3 to Pierre Garcon and the Skin’s defense propelled Washington to a win 17-16 win as they better position themselves to try to make a run for the playoffs.

Blake Griffin & his 30 points couldn't
be stopped even as he sat on his butt!
The National Basketball Association had six games on the hard-court last night as overtime was needed for the Portland Trailblazers to knock off the Charlotte Bobcats 118-112 as LaMarcus Aldridge poured in 25 points, the Cleveland Cavaliers was defeated by the Detroit Pistons 89-79 as Brandon Knight scored 17 points, the New Orleans Hornets literally spanked the Milwaukee Bucks 102-81 with Ryan Anderson notching 22 points, while the Denver Nuggets withstood a late Toronto Raptors run to get the 113-110 win with 19 points from Cory Brewer, the LA Clippers eked out the one point win against the Utah Jazz 105-104 as Blake Griffin was en fuego with 30 points and 11 boards and my home city Orlando Magic got the 2nd straight road win this time against the Golden State Warriors 102-94 as Aaron Afflalo and Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis each had 24 points and an honorable mention to J. J. Reddick as the scored 22 points off the bench.

Eastern Michigan was overwhelmed
by 4th ranked Syracuse
Men’s College Basketball had two ranked games last night as 4th ranked Syracuse manhandled Eastern Michigan 84-48 as Michael Carter-Williams had a double-double with 11 points and 11 dimes and 17th ranked San Diego State muscled past Texas Southern 74-62 for their 6th straight win as Jamaal Franklin brought his A game with 18 points and 15 big boy rebounds.

Nick Foles is the starting QB for the
Eagles for the rest of the season
For your NFL Quick Hits, Baltimore Ravens star linebacker Terrell Suggs suffered a torn biceps in Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a league source told ESPN, coach Andy Reid has officially named Nick Foles as the quarterback for the rest of the season even when Michael Vick returns from being out with a concussion, and finally, the appeal of Richard Sherman's four-game suspension is scheduled for December 14, which means the Seattle Seahawks cornerback will be able to play Sunday at home against Arizona.

Lolo Jones had her 1st bobsled
accident, but was unhurt
and even joked about it
For your Olympic Sporting News, Greg LeMond says the president of the International Cycling Union can't remain in his job while a panel examines possible links between the organization and the doping case involving Lance Armstrong and the three-time Tour de France winner said he would be willing to run cycling in the interim, Utah officials announced plans Monday for a longshot bid for another Winter Olympics, saying they already have the venues in place and have left behind the taint of scandal from the 2002 games, and finally, Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones has survived her first bobsled crash as the first-year bobsled push athlete was in a sled that tipped over during a training run Monday for this weekend's World Cup stop in Winterberg, Germany, however Jones and her driver were not injured.

In sporting news, a one percent increase from 68% to 69% was achieved from last year’s bowl bound schools to this year’s bowl schools, as a study revealed by the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport.  However, the study also revealed a gap between African-American and white players persist.  The NCAA Academic Progress Rate has a target of 925 and 97% of schools received a score higher than the target. Richard Lapchick, who was the primary study author, is of the opinion that awareness raised by Education Secretary Arne Duncan and NCAAP President Ben Jealous was main catalyst in motivating schools to make progress by athletes a priority and he stated “I think the threat of the loss of scholarships has great meaning for coaches today.”
