Monday Night Football & NBA Scores & NFL Quick Hits w/ Brandon Jacobs: 12/11, Vol. 286, 1st Edition

Lift your hands be glad, I'm coming strong on your behalf, Sing your song, do your things, I'm coming strong on your behalf!  Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you heard the last time you heard it…..I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  It’s Game Time!

Tom Brady & Co. was just too
                 much for the Houston Texans
Monday Night Football was on and cracking last night as the 9-3 New England Patriots host the team with the best record in the National Football League at 11-1in the Houston Texans as Texans consider this the biggest game they’ve played despite playing in two playoff games, but the Texans didn’t play big at the start of game as the Patriots scored on their first three possessions and before you knew it, it was half-time and the Patriots were up 21-0.  In the 2nd half, the Patriots put the same amount of points as the first and the Texans could only muster 2 TD’s as they were literally smacked upside the head by the Patriots 42-14 as Tom Brady was surgical with the pigskin with 296 passing yards and count ‘em uno, dos, tres, quarto TD’s.

Tony Parker 1st triple-double
helped fuel the win over the
             Rockets in OT
The National Basketball Association tipped off last night with six games on the docket as the Detroit Pistons were knocked off by the Philadelphia 76ers 104-97 as Jrue Holiday poured in 25 points, the Golden State Warriors kept the Charlotte Bobcats stuck on 7 games won by cruising pass them 104-96 as Stephen Curry erupted for 27 points, the Atlanta Hawks couldn’t handle the defending champs Miami Heat and lost 101-92 as LeBron James notched 27 points, while one of the many Battles of Texas took place as the Houston Rockets pushed the San Antonio Spurs to overtime but the Spurs would not be denied as they won 134-126 as Tony Parker marked his first triple-double with 27 points, 12 boards and 12 assists, the Sacramento Kings were blasted by the Dallas Mavericks 119-96 with 19 points from O. J. Mayo and the Toronto Raptors were bulldozed by the Portland Trailblazers 92-74 with a huge double-double from LaMarcus Aldridge with 30 basket filling points and 12 boards, but the game was highlighted by the Raptors Amir Johnson tussling over the ball after a free throw with one of the referees who tossed him from the game.  Johnson had to be restrained and even threw his mouth piece at the official as he was leaving the court.  Well, stay tuned to your Spiritual Sports Segment to find out what punishment he will receive by the commish cause you know it’s coming.

Because of his social media
                rants, Brandon Jacobs is
              suspended for the remaining
                three games
For your NFL Quick Hits, a day after getting a scare to the NFL’s top rated QB, Washington Redskins Robert Griffin, III has a mild knee sprain, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant had X-rays Monday that revealed the hand injury he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals was a fractured left index finger and his status for the final three games is up in the air, former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue will rule this afternoon on the latest round of player appeals in the NFL's bounty probe, and any potential punishment will be delayed by a week, the Dallas Cowboys invited nose tackle Josh Brent to Tuesday's private memorial service for practice squad outside linebacker Jerry Brown, and finally, the San Francisco 49ers suspended running back Brandon Jacobs on Monday for the final three games following a series of posts on social media sites addressing his lack of playing time, including one during the weekend saying he was "on this team rotting away.”

Otto Porter leads Georgetown
           over Longwood
There was only ranked team in action in Men’s College Basketball as Longwood was clobbered, crushed and contained, alliteration, I Love It, by 15th ranked Georgetown 89-53 as Otto Porter had a game high of 22 points and for a couple few SWAC games Mississippi Valley State was outmuscled by Virginia Tech 70-49 with 23 points from Erik Green, Alabama State got walloped by Detroit 81-68 as Nick Minnerath had 22 points and Williams Carey was hammered by Southern as Derrick Beltran notched 23 points.

All of the ranked teams in Women’s College Basketball had the night off however comma I’ll run several scores in various conferences and also in the MEAC and the SWAC as Harvard was defeated by Boston U 68-61, Florida Atlantic was bounced by Wisconsin 82-73, Loyola (Maryland) got past Army 53-47, while North Florida lost to Savannah State 49-40 in the MEAC and in the SWAC, Southern tried to hang as Fordham got the win 56-44 and Jackson State lost to Louisiana-Lafayette 68-57.

For your NBA Quick Dribbles, Houston Rockets guard James Harden missed Monday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs with a sprained right ankle, things are bad in Phoenix, but a day after the Suns lost their seventh straight game to fall to 7-15, team owner Robert Sarver told ESPN.com that coach Alvin Gentry's job is safe, and finally, Andrew Bynum still has pain in his left knee that has kept him from making his debut with the Philadelphia 76ers as he is in pain when he walks or attempts even light physical activity, except for swimming.
