Russell Wilson provides a key block for Marshawn Lynch in dominating win against the Skins |
The
Playoffs
in the National Football League kicked over the weekend as I re-cap the games
on Sunday as the 1st game featured the last home game of arguably
the greatest linebacker to ever suit ‘em up in Ray Lewis as he is retiring
after 17 glorious seasons in the NFL and his Baltimore Ravens hosted the
surprising Indianapolis Colts led by rookie quarterback Andrew Luck and the
aforementioned Lewis and the Ravens defense dialed up the
pressure on Luck who was sacked three times and intercepted once and Ravens
offense was humming
right along as Joe Flacco passed for 282 yards and 2 TD’s as the
Ravens horseshoed
the Colts 24-6 and will face the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Playoff
and the 2nd game featured two more rookie QB’s as Russell Wilson led
his Seattle Seahawks to the nation’s capital to battle a gimpy Robert Griffin, III and
the Washington Redskins and the Skins got off to a 14-0 start with 2 TD’s from
RG3 and that
was all she wrote for the Skins
as the Seahawks rattled
off 24 consecutive points to
blast the Redskins 24-14 with 132 ground pounding yards
from Marshawn Lynch and a score, while RG3’s knee gave out on him while
recovering a bad snap and left the game for good and Seahawks advance and win
to face off against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Divisional Playoffs.

These fans are ready for the NHL season to begin...are you? |
In
breaking news yesterday evening, for all the frozen starved hockey fans, after
113 days and 510 games missed, the NHL and NHL Players Union finally reached a
tentative collective bargaining agreement to end the NHL Lockout. Although a lot of work still needs to be
done, the framework of a deal is in place which includes a 50-50 revenue split,
a 10-year deal with a mutual opt-out clause after eight years and includes
contract term limits at seven years, but a team has eight years to re-sign its
own players, and contract salary variance is capped at 35 percent from year to
year, with the provision that the last year can't vary more than 50 percent
from the highest-salaried year.
