The Masked 40 Point Scorer!
The National Basketball Association was off and running last night with four games on tap as the Milwaukee Bucks took care of business against the Philadelphia 76ers 110-102 as Ersan Ilyasova was a beast with 27 points and 16 rebounds, my home city Orlando Magic were pounced by the Detroit Pistons 105-90 with 18 points from Brandon Knight, while the Boston Celtics were tormented by Kyrie Irving’s 40 sizzling hot points as the Cleveland Cavaliers knock off the Celtics 95-90 and the LA Clippers were outgunned by the OKC Thunder 109-97 with 32 points from Kevin Durant and Chris Paul was out due to his knee.

Colorado Avalanche gets the
              win over the LA Kings
The National Hockey League were doing their thing on the frozen court as the Nashville Predators got past the Minnesota Wild 3-1, the Dallas Stars defeated the Detroit Red Wings 2-1, the New Jersey Devils SHUT OUT the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0, the Montreal Canadiens pounded the Florida Panthers 4-1, while the Tampa Bay Lightning struck down the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1, the Winnipeg Jets got past the Washington Capitals 4-2, the San Jose Sharks crushed the Edmonton Oilers 6-3, the defending champions LA Kings were outskated by the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 and the St. Louis Blues lost to the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2.

Mayor Johnson announces deal
                to buy the Sacramento Kings
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, in front of a cheering City Hall crowd filled with fans and public officials Tuesday, Kevin Johnson introduced the first part of his four-step plan to keep the Sacramento Kings in California's capital city, which in part includes 20 local investors who have pledged at least $1 million each to be part of a group that would buy the franchise, Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Derrick Rose took "the next step" in his return from knee surgery by taking more contact in practice on Tuesday, and finally, Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill will undergo season-ending surgery on his left hip today, the team announced Tuesday after Hill received a second opinion on his injury in Nashville by Dr. Thomas Byrd.

Dallas Cowboy Jay Ratliff
            arrested for DWI
For your NFL Quick Hits, the NFL reinstated New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton on Tuesday from his season-long suspension as a result of the league's investigation into the team's bounty program, Dallas Cowboys starting nose tackle Jay Ratliff was arrested and charged with DWI in the early-morning hours Tuesday after he crashed his 2011 Ford pickup truck into a 18-wheeler, Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed said that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has reached out to him to apologize for making contact with him on a slide late in the first half of the AFC Championship Game and the play in under review by the NFL, as he was trying to beat the light, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan was involved in a car accident last week in Bethlehem, PA, on January 14 and collided with another car, which ran into a third car, according to the police report and was issued a warning rather than a ticket or summons, James Lewis McCoy of Villa Rica was arrested Tuesday by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority Police Department for stabbing a fan near the Georgia Dome following the Falcons' NFC Championship Game loss, and finally, the NFL is hoping to decide the fate of the Pro Bowl by the time it releases next season's schedule in April. And the fate of the league's all-star game will largely depend on how much effort this year's participants put into the game.
