Aloha as the 2013 National Football League Pro Bowl played out in Honolulu as the NFC simply demolished the AFC 62-35 as Minnesota Vikings Kyle Rudolph was named MVP as he racked up 122 receiving yards and a score and rookie QB Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks threw not one, not two, but three TD’s.

The National Basketball Association was on and poppin’ with seven games on the hard-court as the defending champions Miami Heat needed double overtime but couldn’t get past the Boston Celtics as they lost 100-98 as Paul ‘The Truth’ Pierce netted a triple-double of 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, the OKC Thunder ran into my LA Lakers as Kobe Bryant again passed out 14 dimes for the 2nd consecutive game along with 21 points as the Lakers put the quiet storm on the Thunder 105-96, the Detroit Pistons edged my home-city Orlando Magic 104-102 as Brandon Knight scores a career high of 31 points, the New Orleans Hornets ran past the Memphis Grizzlies 91-83 as Ryan Anderson drained 7 3’s for 22 points, while the Atlanta Hawks was defeated by the New York Knicks as Carmelo Anthony sanked 9 3’s and made the nets sizzle with 42 points, the Phoenix Suns was blasted by the Dallas Mavericks 110-95 as Dirk Nowitzki netted 18 points and passed Allen Iverson on the career scoring list and the Portland Trailblazers were walloped by the LA Clippers 96-83 with 23 points from Blake Griffin.

The National Hockey League got their skate grove on yesterday with eight games on the ice as the Buffalo Sabres lost to the Washington Capitals 2-1, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Ottawa Senators in a shootout 2-1, the New Jersey Devils lost to the Montreal Canadians 4-3 in OT, the Philadelphia Flyers were hammered by the Tampa Bay Lighting 5-1, the Detroit Red Wings lost 4-3 to the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime, while the Minnesota Wild were dumped in overtime by the St. Louis Blues 5-4, the New York Islanders were handled in overtime by the Winnipeg Jets 5-4 and the Vancouver Canucks were pounded by the San Jose Sharks 4-1.

For your 1st Segment Quick News & Notes, NBA Quick Dribbles, in what was initially thought to be a hyperextended knee, Boston Celtics star point guard Rajon Rondo has a torn ACL in his right knee and will miss the remainder of the season, Junior featherweight titleholder Nonito Donaire, who had a dominant 2012 campaign, was voted Sugar Ray Robinson Fighter of the Year in balloting results announced on Sunday by the Boxing Writers Association of America, the Chip Ganassi Racing won the Rolex 24 Grand-Am race at Daytona on Sunday, and finally, President Barack Obama says he's a football fan but that if he had a son, considering the impact the game has on its players, he would think long and hard before allowing his son to play.
