Tostitos Fiesta Bowl & NBA Scores, NBA w/ Phil Jackson & LeBron James & NFL w/ Payton Manning: 1/4 - Vol. 304 - 1st Edition

My friends and family, there is nothing more we can say.  Cause God’s been so good, Lord we wanna give you praise.  Thank you for all you have done and sending us your son…..we just wanna say thank you! Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you heard it the last time you heard it!  I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.! …..Here We Go!

Let the Fiesta begin as the Ducks
clobbered the Wildcats
The College Football Bowl Season is getting down to the nitty, gritty as the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl had the 4th ranked Oregon Ducks getting down and dirty with the 5th ranked Kansas State Wildcats and the Ducks wasted no time to quack their stuff as De’Anthony Thomas had a 94 yard kickoff return to open the game and he scored again toward the end of the 1st quarter.  Early and mid-way through the 2nd quarter, Kansas State joined the TD party, but Oregon scored right before half-time to take a 22-10 lead into the locker room.  In the 2nd half, it was pretty much all Oregon as they scored one TD and 2 field goals to Kansas State’s one TD as the Ducks made the Wildcats wobble, wobble with a score of 35-17 as Marcus Mariota had 2 touchdown passes and Kenjon Barner kept the running game in check with 143 ground pounding yards.

Tyson Chandler defending the paint
in the blowout win over the Spurs
It was Thursday night and it wasn’t ladies night, but it was the NBA on TNT as they had two games that were featured starting with the 2nd ranked team in the Western Conference in the San Antonio Spurs pitted against 2nd ranked team in the Eastern Conference in the New York Knicks and the Knicks ran the Spurs out of the gym 100-83 and snapped their 7 game win streak with 23 points from Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler chipped in 10 and rebounds and in the second game, the Minnesota Timberwolves did battle with the Denver Nuggets and the Timberwolves came away victorious with the 101-97 win 12 points and 17 Big Time rebounds from Kevin Love, who left the game due to a sprained finger and J. J. Barea was in beast mode with 17 points off the bench.

Phil & Jennie finally engaged!
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, LeBron James sat out of Thursday's practice to receive extensive treatment for his bruised right knee but hopes to play in tonight's game against the Chicago Bulls and he also has been chosen USA Basketball's male athlete of the year for 2012 after equaling Michael Jordan's feat while leading the Americans to a gold medal, San Antonio Spurs forward Stephen Jackson left San Antonio's 100-83 loss to the Knicks Thursday night after spraining his right ankle when he crashed into a waitress working the sideline in front of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and did not return to the game, Phil Jackson, 11-time NBA champion coach popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss, over the Christmas holiday, and she accepted and tweeted a pic of the rock.

Peyton Manning award his record
tying 6th Player of the Month Award
For your NFL Quick Hits, Oregon coach Chip Kelly won't have much time to rest after the Fiesta Bowl as he has an interview scheduled today with the Buffalo Bills for their coaching vacancy in Arizona, Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is scheduled to interview for head coaching jobs with the Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, according to a league source, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, who will retire at the end of this season, is close to signing a multiyear contract with ESPN, according to a published report, and finally, Peyton Manning tied yet another NFL record Thursday when he won his sixth career Offensive Player of the Month award as he joined Kurt Warner as the only players with 10 TD's, 1,300 yards, a 70 percent completion percentage and five wins in December, and finally, an autopsy has found that Dallas Cowboys practice squad player Jerry Brown was sober when he was killed in a crash that led to an intoxication manslaughter charge against Josh Brent, the teammate at the wheel.
