Kevin Durant not got
              his scoring, but also
              brought his defense
The NBA was mixing it up with two games on the slate and TNT was dishing it out as the somewhat new look Memphis Grizzlies, as they traded away their leading scorer in Rudy Gay, took on the OKC Thunder and the Grizzlies were struck down like a bad habit 106-89 as Kevin Durant punished Memphis’ defense with 27 points in the 1st game and in the 2nd game, the Dallas Mavericks tried to make things interesting by closing the gap, but the Golden State Warriors was just too much as they won 100-97 as Klay Thompson made the nets sizzle with 27 points.

Saint Louis fans storm the court
after the UPSET win over Butler

The young bucks in the Men’s College Basketball had four ranked games that was ballin’ last night as 7th ranked Gonzaga manhandled and mangled Loyola Mary 88-43 as the Bulldogs connected on 13 3 pointers, 8th ranked Arizona got back in the win column barely as the got past Washington 57-53 with 15 points from Nick Johnson, 9th ranked Butler was not only UPSET but they were crushed, contained and clobbered, Alliteration, I Love It, by unranked Saint Louis 75-58 as Jodair Jett jettison his way off the bench with a game high of 19 points and 13th ranked Michigan State was guided by Keith Appling’s 24 scorching points as they defeat Illinois 80-75.

Brandon Roy has had a
                 setback with his knee injury
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, Los Angeles Lakers star center Dwight Howard has been diagnosed with a sore right shoulder and is day to day, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy has had a setback with his surgically repaired right knee, casting further doubt on his chances of resuming a career derailed by knee problems, and finally, a North Texas jury has Nickey Maxwell Van Exel, the 22-year-old son of former NBA player Nick Van Exel guilty of murder in the shooting death of a longtime friend and penalty phase begins Friday.

Donald Driver hanging up
                the cleats
For your NFL Quick Hits, Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff admitted Thursday he is lobbying hard to convince veteran and future Hall of Famer tight end Gonzalez to return and not to retire, NFL general counsel Jeff Pash says he expects independent neurological consultants to be on sidelines during games next season to help diagnose and treat concussions, Green Bay Packers receiver Donald Driver announced on ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike in the Morning" Thursday that he is retiring after 14 seasons, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill has made his first court appearance since he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend and is being held on $150,000 bail and has a second court appearance scheduled for today, and finally, three black former NFL coaches, including Tony Dungy, say the league needs to rethink its Rooney Rule for promoting minority hiring after 15 top vacancies as eight head coaching jobs and seven general manager positions, were all filled by white candidates since the regular season ended a month ago.
