            The National Basketball Association had nine games featuring two nationally televised games the OKC Thunder halted the Boston Celtics five game win streak 91-79 as Kevin Durant notched a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards and in the 2nd game, my LA Lakers pounded the Chicago Bulls 90-81 with 16 points and 21 monster rebounds from Dwight Howard as the Lakers move into the 8th spot for the playoffs, the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Toronto Raptors 100-96 with 18 points from Alan Anderson, my home-city Orlando Magic snapped a losing streak against the Philadelphia 76ers 99-91 as Jameer Nelson Show Up and Showed Out with 24 points and 10 dimes, while the Indiana Pacers became the latest victim to the Miami Heat’s 18th consecutive win with a 105-91 thumping as Mario Chalmers lead as all scorers with 26 points, the Portland Trailblazers lost 98-96 to the New Orleans Hornets with 20 clutch points from Ryan Anderson, the Dallas Mavericks literally smacked the Minnesota Timberwolves upside the head 100-77 as Vince Carter led the charge with 22 points, the Milwaukee Bucks edged the Sacramento Kings 115-113 with Monta Ellis pouring in 29 points and the Detroit Pistons were mauled, mangled and manhandled, Alliteration, I Love It, by the Lob City Clippers 129-97 as Blake Griffin led with 24 points and Chris Paul passed out 14 dimes.

             Men’s College Basketball had five ranked games on Sunday as 2nd ranked Indiana captured the Big Ten regular season crown by getting the one point win against 7th ranked Michigan as Cody Zeller was a beast with 25 points and 10 rebounds, 10th ranked Michigan State knocked off Northwestern 71-61 with 16 points from Keith Appling, 14th ranked Ohio State crushed Illinois 68-55 as Deshaun Thomas netted 19 points, #21 VCU was UPSET by unranked Temple as the Owls erased a 16 point deficit behind Kalif Wyatt’s 30 basket filling points and 22nd ranked Wisconsin needed a buzzer beating trey from Traevon Jackson to ward off Penn State 63-60.

                                After a few putting lessons from Steve Stricker, Tiger Woods closed out his 76th PGA Tour win with a -19 under par at the WGC-Cadillac Championship the TPC Blue Monster at Doral and the aforementioned Stricker placed 2nd with a -17 under par and Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson and Graeme McDowell all finished tied for third.

     For your 1st Segment Quick News & Notes, Derrick Rose has been taking full contact in practice for well over a month, but he says his hamstrings are "on fire" after those workouts and added that he won't return to the court until he's past those issues, Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving was knocked out with a left shoulder injury late in the third quarter yesterday in their loss against the Toronto Raptors, Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz will be shut down 5-7 days after an MRI on both heels revealed inflammation in the bony area of his right heel, Team USA advanced to the 2nd round in the World Baseball Classic as they routed Canada 9-4, The Miami Herald, citing an unnamed source close to Reggie Bush, reported Sunday that the running back will not return to the Miami Dolphins next season, the New York Giants and veteran defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins have agreed to a three-year contract worth $8 million, and finally, Seattle police say University of Washington standout tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence over the weekend.
