The National Basketball Association was ballin’ on a Sunday as the defending champion Miami Heat used 24 points from LeBron James to dispatch the Chicago Bulls 105-93, the Brooklyn Nets were defeated by the Toronto Raptors 93-87 behind 36 scorching hot points from DeMar DeRozan, the Indiana Pacers are limping into the playoffs as they lost 90-80 to the New York Knicks as the Knicks secure the Eastern Conferences 2nd seed, the 76ers blasted the Cleveland Cavaliers 91-77 with 15 points from Dorell Wright, while the Portland Trailblazers were throttled by the Denver Nuggets 118-109 as Andre Igoudala poured in 28 points, the Dallas Mavericks pummeled the New Orleans Hornets 107-89 as Dirk Nowitzki reached 25,000 points, the Houston Rockets whipped, walloped, whacked, Alliteration, I Love It, the Sacramento Kings 121-100 as James Harden dumped 29 points on the Kings and my LA Lakers played their first game without the great Kobe ‘The Black Mamba’ Bryant against the San Antonio Spurs and Dwight Howard was like Dottie Peoples as he Showed Up & Showed Out with 26 points and 17 glass grabbing rebounds and Steve Blake put in work as well with 23 points as the Lakers got past the Spurs 91-86 to go a full 1 ½ games up on the Utah Jazz for the 8th spot.

Sunday dropped his appeal and began serving an eight-game suspension for
rushing the mound and inciting a brawl in which Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher
Zack Greinke broke his left collarbone, and finally, Los Angeles Lakers
assistant coach Eddie Jordan is nearing an agreement with Rutgers to replace
Mike Rice as coach, a person familiar with the situation has told The
Associated Press.
