The
National League in Major League Baseball were running the bases on Sunday as
the Philadelphia Phillies outlast the Miami Marlins 2-1, the Atlanta Braves SHUT OUT and wobbled, wobbled on
the Washington Nationals 9-0, 9-Zip, 9-Zilch, ouch, the Cincinnati Reds were grounded
by the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-7 as Michael McKenry homered twice in the same game
for the first time, Jonathan Lucroy’s homer in the 10th inning
lifted the Milwaukee Brewers over the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3, while 10 innings
were also needed between the defending champions San Francisco Giants as they
out swung the Chicago Cubs 10-7 as the Cubs tied a major league record for the
most wild pitches thrown in a single inning, the Colorado Rockies swept the
series 2-1 over the San Diego Padres and the LA Dodgers were SHUT OUT by the Arizona Diamondbacks 1-0 with a walk off hit
from Paul Goldsmith and there was one Interleague game but it was postponed due
to snow and the New York Mets and Minnesota Twins will the make-up game on
Monday, August 19.

National Hockey League only had three games on the ice as the Chicago
Blackhawks SHUT
OUT the St. Louis Blues 2-0, the
Tampa Bay Lighting were outskated by the Buffalo Sabres 3-1 and the
Detroit Red Wings SHUT OUT and clobbered
the Nashville Predators 3-0.
