The National League in Major League Baseball were swinging their bats last night as the Milwaukee Brewers pounded the San Diego Padres 6-3, in the 1st Game, the Atlanta Braves used Justin Upton’s 10th homer of the season to get past the Colorado Rockies 4-3, later in day, history was made as the Atlanta Braves smoked the Colorado Rockies 10-2 in Game 2 as the Upton brothers launched back-to-back homers, the LA Dodgers blasted the New York Mets 7-2 as Mark Ellis hit 2 homers, the Chicago Cubs needed 10 innings to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 4-2, while the Pittsburgh Pirates SHUT OUT the Philadelphia Phillies 2-0, the St. Louis Cardinals also SHUT OUT the Washington Nationals 2-0 as Adam Wainwright fanned 9 batters and the Arizona Diamondbacks out swung the defending champions San Francisco Giants 6-4.

The National Hockey League had 10 games skating on the ice last night as the Montreal Canadiens loss to the New Jersey Devils 3-2, the Washington Capitals muscled past the Winnipeg Jets 5-3 as they claim the #3 seed, the New York Islanders was defeated by the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in a shoot-out, the Buffalo Sabres won against the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2, the Boston Bruins were hammered by the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2, while the New York Rangers fail to advance to postseason play by losing to the Carolina Panthers 3-2, the Colorado Avalanche couldn’t handle the St. Louis Blues and loss 3-1 as the Blues clinch a playoff berth, the Calgary Flames were defeated by the Nashville Predators 4-3, the Minnesota Wild got past the defending champions LA Kings 2-1 and the Dallas Stars were defeated by the San Jose Sharks 3-2 as the Sharks clinched a playoff spot.
