The
National Hockey League skated to the tune of eight games on Sunday as the St.
Louis Blues SHUT
OUT the Detroit Red Wings 1-0, the Dallas Stars won 5-4 in a shoot-out
over the San Jose Sharks, the Ottawa Senators lost 2-1 to the Florida Panthers,
the Minnesota Wild SHUT OUT the
Columbus Blue Jackets 3-0, the Tampa Bay Lighting were defeated by the
Washington Capitals 4-2, while the Nashville Predators were clobbered
by the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 as the Blackhawks is the first team to clinch a
playoff spot, a shoot-out was needed for the Buffalo Sabres to knocked off the
New Jersey Devils 3-2 and the defending champions LA Kings lost 4-3 in a shoot-out
to the Anaheim Ducks.

The Atlanta Braves cruised to
victory over the Chicago Cubs

The
National League in Major League Baseball witnessed Stephan Strasburg getting drilled
as the Washington Nationals were blasted by the Cincinnati Reds 6-3, the Miami
Marlins lost by a run to the New York Mets 4-3, the Chicago Cubs were clobbered
by the Atlanta Braves 5-1, the Arizona Diamondbacks out swung the Milwaukee
Brewers 8-7 in 11 innings, while the Pittsburgh Pirates were pummeled
by the LA Dodgers 6-2, the San Diego Padres were rocked by the Colorado Rockies
9-1 and the St. Louis Cardinals galvanized the San Francisco Giants 14-3 and
there was one Interleague game as the Kansas City Royals knocked off the
Philadelphia Phillies 9-8.

Jimmie Johnson wins for
the 8th time at Martinsville

Eight
is a good number for the #48 car as Jimmie Johnson led a career best 346 laps
yesterday at Martinsville to capture the checkered for the 8th time
at that track as he takes over 3rd place on the career victories
list on NASCAR’s oldest track and Clint Bowyer placed 2nd, Jeff
Gordon was 3rd, Kasey Kahne 4th and Kyle Busch round out
the top five.

Martin Laird earned a Master's
invite with his win at Valero

Needing
to win to get an invite to The Masters, Martin Laird of Scotland, captured his
first win since 2011 as he finished with a 14 under par at the Valero Texas
Open in San Antonio, TX and he beat out the former #1 one player in the world
in Rory McIlroy by two strokes and Billy Horschel, Jim Furyk and Charley Hoffman
all finished tied for 3rd at 11 under par.

For

Hunter-Reay snapped Penske Racing's winning streak at Barber Motorsports Park,

Nationals and claimed more than $100,000 during the weekend at The Strip at Las
Vegas Motor Speedway, and finally, IndyCar will race at Barber Motorsports Park
at least through 2016 under a contract extension announced Sunday.
