The National Basketball Association had six ballin’and poppin’ games last night as overtime was needed to decipher the outcome of the Portland Trailblazers and the Denver Nuggets as the Nuggets surged past the Trailblazers 115-111 as Danilo Gallinari poured in 25 points and Ty Lawson was in the giving mood with 12 assists, the Houston Rockets were grounded 117-109 by the LA Clippers as Jamal ‘Hot Plate’ Crawford was en fuego with 30 points, the Brooklyn Nets was led by Brook Lopez’s 22 points in the 113-106 win over  the Toronto Raptors, while the Charlotte Bobcats was literally spanked by the Indiana Pacers 103-76 with 18 points from Roy Hibbert, Grevis Vasquez netted 22 points for the New Orleans Hornets as the cruise past the Philadelphia 76ers 111-99 and my LA Lakers clobbered the Milwaukee Bucks 104-88 for their 2nd straight win as Kobe and Dwight Howard each had 31 net burning points and Howard 16 glass grabbing rebounds and ole faithful Steve Nash handed out 11 dimes.

The 2013 Aussie Open pressed on with the First and Second Rounds as the notable winners for the men included Nikolay Davydenko, Gilles Simon, Jo-Winfried Tsonga and Juan Martin Del Porto and the notable winners for the women were Roberta Vinci, Lucie Safarova, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Angelique Kerber, and Agnieska Radwanska.

Men’s College Basketball had not one, but two UPSETS last night as the unranked Badgers of Wisconsin UPSET the Hoosiers of Indiana 64-59 with 13 points from Ryan Evans and they held the Hoosiers to 37% shooting, 12th ranked Creighton crushed Northern Iowa 79-68 as Doug McDermott did what Doug McDermott does as he made the nets holla for their dolla’ with 31 sizzling points and 20th ranked Norte Dame was UPSET by unranked St. John’s 67-63 as Jakarr Sampson netted 17 points.

The ladies in Women’s College Basketball also had three ranked games that played out last night as 2nd ranked Norte Dame punished Georgetown 79-64 with 17 points from Kayla McBride and Skylar Diggins had it going on with 15 points, 9 assists and six steals as they win their 10th consecutive game, 24th ranked Iowa State not only got the UPSET win over 16th ranked Oklahoma, but they smoked, stifled and smothered, Alliteration, I Love It, the Sooners 82-61 as Hallie Christofferson was hot, hot, hot, hot with 24 points and #3 UConn demolished 15th ranked Louisville 72-58 as Shonni Schimmel scored 14 points.
