Chris Paul wins the 2013 NBA
All Star MVP while his son imitates
               his daddy.....awwwww
The 2013 NBA All Star Game in the city where I reside concluded on Sunday and as usual the All Stars put on a show as Carmelo Anthony lead all scorers with 26 points for the East and lead with 12 boards, while Dwayne Wade lead the East with 7 assists and for the West, Blake Grifin was in highlight reel with several thunderous dunks as Kevin Durant’s shooting was scorching hot as he finished with a game high of 30 points, Kobe Bryant only scored 9, but had 8 assists and locked down defense on LeBron James in the final minutes of the game as he blocked James twice and Chris Paul of the LA Clippers became the first Clipper to take home MVP honors with his 20 points and 15 dimes as the West took it to the East 143-138.

Miami survived a challenge from
              Clemson to stay undefeated
            in the ACC
Men’s College Basketball was getting their groove on with five ranked games as #3 Miami escaped Clemson with a 45-43 slugfest win over Clemson to maintain their undefeated dominance in the ACC, 4th ranked Michigan survived a slow 1st half to get past Penn State 79-71 as Trey Burke was lighting up the nets with 29 points, 12th ranked Louisville stymied South Florida 59-41 with 15 points from Russ Smith, while 9th ranked Arizona avoided a collapse against Utah by notching the 68-64 win as Mark Lyons poured in 18 points and 13th Ohio State was literally spanked and UPSET  by 20th ranked Wisconsin 71-49 as Ben Brust Busted the Basket for 15 points and Banged the Boards, Alliteration, I Love It, for 11.

Danica Patrick becomes 1st
                 woman to capture the
              Daytona 500 pole
The PGA was in Pacific Palisades, CA for the Northern Trust Open as the match came down to a two hole playoff as John Merrick held off Charlie Beijan to capture his share of $1.1 million of a $6 million dollar purse and in the LPGA as the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open, Jiayi Shin captured the win with an 18 under par.

For your 1st Segment Quick News & Notes, Courtney Force raced to her 2nd career victory in Funny Car at the NHRA Winternationals and defending Top Fuel world champion Antron Brown walked away from a fiery crash with only minor injuries, Danica Patrick won the Daytona 500 pole Sunday, becoming the first woman to secure the top spot for any race in NASCAR's premier circuit,  Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie says point guard Chelsea Gray will miss the rest of the regular season as she injured her right knee in the win over Wake Forest, and finally, Alec Ogletree, the former Georgia linebacker and a likely first-round pick in April's NFL draft, was arrested earlier this month for DUI, his agent told Profootballtalk.com.

Oscar Pistorious' agent
               has canceled all
                future races
For your 2nd Segment Quick News & Notes, Colorado Rockies first baseman Todd Helton fought tears as he apologized Sunday and asked for forgiveness at the start of spring training after he was arrested for DUI, looking for something that's a little more evolved than the Wonderlic, the NFL will introduce a counterpart to the much-criticized intelligence test at this week's combine, according to an NFL.com report, and finally, Oscar Pistorius' track career was put on hold indefinitely Sunday because of his murder charge against his girlfriend as his agent was forced to cancel all future races.
