            The Wonderful World of Sports was Simply Sensational as I kick off the Sports Segment with scores in the NBA aka The Association as the defending champions Miami Heat rallied after halftime muscled past the New York Knicks for their franchise tying 14th consecutive win 99-93 as LeBron James put up a double-double of 29 points and 11 boards, the OKC Thunder held their ground and knocked off the LA Clippers 108-104 with Kevin Durant’s 34 sizzling points, the Washington Wizards defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 87-80 with John Wall and Martell Webster each contributing 16 points, the Memphis Grizzlies buried my home-city Orlando Magic 108-82 with six Grizzlies in double figures, the Charlotte Bobcats were demolished by the Sacramento Kings 119-83 as John Salmons notched 22 points, while the Houston Rockets manhandled the Dallas Mavericks 136-103 with 32 basket filling points from Chandler Parsons, the Detroit Pistons were literally smacked upside the head by the San Antonio Spurs 114-75 with 17 points from Manu Ginobili off the bench, the Indiana Pacers outpaced the Chicago Bulls 97-92 as David West was a beast with 32 points and my LA Lakers eked out the one point 99-98 win against the Atlanta Hawks as they finally reached the .500 mark behind Kobe Bryant’s 34 scorching hot points.

            Men’s College Basketball only had three ranked games on Sunday as the one the most storied college rivalries played witness to 4th ranked Michigan eking out the measly one point win over 9th ranked Michigan State 58-58 as Trey Burke poured in the 21 points, 17th ranked Wisconsin was UPSET and denominated by unranked Purdue 69-56 with 22 points from D. J. Byrd and Villanova loss to 23rd ranked Pittsburgh 73-64 in overtime as Talib Zanna scored 14 points but pulled down 19 glass grabbling rebounds.

             NASCAR took their talents to Phoenix International Raceway and Carl Edwards ended his winning drought with his signature back flip as he capitalized on the a late restart and captured the checkered flag to end his 70 race winless streak as Jimmie Johnson placed 2nd, Denny Hamlin 3rd, coming in 4th place was Brad Keselowski and rounding out the top five finishers was Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

            Woman’s College Basketball had a  plethora of ranked games as I recap the top seven ranked games starting with 5th ranked Duke breezing past 15th ranked North Carolina 65-58 with 22 points from Alexis Jones, 7th ranked  Penn State clobbered, controlled and contained, Alliteration, I Love It, 20th ranked Nebraska 82-67 as Maggie Lucas played outside of her mind with 34 points, 8th ranked Tennessee was lambasted by 10th ranked Kentucky with 16 points from A’dia Mathies, 9th ranked Maryland simply befuddled Wake Forest 88-61 with a big time double-double from Tianna Hawkins of 18 points and 11 boards, while 11th ranked Georgia avoided the upset by getting past Vanderbilt 55-50 as Jasmine Hassell scored 16 points, 12th ranked Drayton knocked off Saint Joseph’s 73-66 as they clinched their first A-100 regular season conference title and 13th ranked Texas A&M was UPSET by unranked LSU 67-52 as Theresa Plaisance scored 16 points.

            The National Hockey League was skating all over the ice with nine games as the Chicago Blackhawks needed a shoot-out  to get the win over the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 to extend their points streak, the New York Islanders also needed a shoot-out to get past the Ottawa Senators 3-2, overtime was needed as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeat the Colorado Avalanche 2-1, the St. Louis Blues were ice blasted 4-1 by the Dallas Stars, the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Florida Panthers 3-2, while the Montreal Canadiens surged past the Boston Bruins 4-3, the New York Rangers outlasted the Buffalo Sabres in a shoot-out 3-2, the Edmonton Oilers lost to the Minnesota Wild 4-2 and the Calgary Flames skated past the Vancouver Canucks 4-2.

            The PGA concluded The Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with a $5.8 million purse with Michael Thompson surviving tough conditions to capture his first tour win with a 9 under and earning slightly more than a million dollars as Geoff Ogilvy placed 2nd with a 7 under par and Luke Guthrie finished with a 5 under par for 3rd place.
