Selection Sunday revealed which teams are going to the Big Dance during March Madness however comma I digress and kick off your scores from Sunday starting with the National Basketball Association as the defending champions Miami Heat won their 22nd consecutive game, which is tied for the 2nd longest, as they throttled the Toronto Raptors 108-91 as Dwayne Wade collected 24 points, my home-city Orlando Magic was defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks 115-109 as Monta Ellis was on fire with 39 points, the New York Knicks were hammered by the Lob City Clippers 93-80 with 20 points from Chris Paul, the Golden State Warriors literally spanked the Houston Rockets 108-78 ouch, as Stephen Curry lite up the scoreboard for 29 points and passed out 11 dimes, while the Minnesota Timberwolves got past the New Orleans Hornets 97-95 as Derrick Williams poured in 28 points, Russell Westbrook buried the Dallas Mavericks defense with 35 points as the OKC Thunder pulled away 107-101 in the 4th quarter behind Kevin Duran’ts 19 points, the Atlanta Hawks knocked off the Brooklyn Nets 105-93 behind Al Horford’s double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds and my LA Lakers crowned the Sacramento Kings 113-102 without their leader Kobe Bryant and 6 players scored in double figures as Antwan Jamison put in work with 27 points off the bench, Dwight Howard grabbed 17 rebounds off the glass and 5 monster blocks and Steve Nash distributed 12 assists as the Lakers are only a ½ game back of the Rockets for the 7th spot in the Western Conference.

Championship Week concluded yesterday as 9th Miami wrapped up the ACC Title by tar-heeling North Carolina 87-77 with 28 scorching hot points from Shane Larkin, 10th ranked Ohio State badgered 22nd ranked Wisconsin 50-43 to claim the Big Ten Title with 17 points from DeShaun Thomas, unranked Ole Miss UPSET 13th ranked Florida 66-63 to take home the SEC Title with Murphy Holloway dominating with 23 points and 10 rebounds and the A-10 Title went to 16th ranked Saint Louis with the 62-56 win over 25th ranked VCU as Kwamain Mitchell netted 19 points.

Let the Madness of March begin as Men’s College Basketball kick off their tourney on tomorrow with several 1st Round games as Louisville, who won the Big East Title on Saturday secured the overall #1 seed in the Midwest Region, Kansas has the #1 seed in the South Region, top seeded Gonzaga is the West Region and Indiana got the #1 seed in the East Region.  If the National Championship Tourney doesn’t scratch your basketball itch, the National Invitation Tournament will tip off on Tuesday as Kentucky who are the reigning National Champs, will not defend their title, but secured a #1 seed in the NIT, along with #1 seeds Alabama, University of Virginia and Southern Mississippi.  Make sure you tune in on Wednesday for latest scores and updates in the Men’s College Basketball Tournament.
