Last week I kicked off The Wednesday Night Take Over
in the NBA and last night was no different as 20 teams took to the wood floors with
10 games on tap starting with DeMarcus Cousins narrowly missing a triple double
with 28 points, 11 boards and 9 dimes as the Sacramento Kings sent the
Cleveland Cavaliers to their 3rd consecutive loss with an overtime
win of 116 - 112, the Houston Rockets were crushed by the Boston Celtics 120 –
109 as Isaiah Thomas was on fire with 38 points, Dion Waiters continues his
scoring spree with 24 points and 9 assists as his Miami Heat got past the
Brooklyn Nets 109 – 106, the Atlanta Hawks took the Chicago Bulls by the horns
and notched the win 119 – 114 with 24 points from Dennis Schroder, meanwhile the
surging Philadelphia 76er’s got past the Milwaukee Bucks 114 – 119 as Nerlens
Noel got a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds, the Toronto Raptors
couldn’t handle the Memphis Grizzlies as they loss 101 – 99 as Mark Gasol did
his Dottie Peoples’ impersonation and Showed Up & Showed Out with 42
points, the OKC Thunder and Mr. Triple Double himself in Russell Westbrook
notched the win over the New Orleans Pelicans 114 – 105 as the aforementioned
Westbrook passed the great Larry Bird with his 60th career
triple-double with 27 points, 12 boards and 10 dimes. ESPN’s featured game one
of the night pitted the Golden State Warriors matched up against the Charlotte
Hornets as Kevin Durant scored 16 of his 33 points in the 4th
quarter to help the Warriors get past the Hornets 113 – 103, the New York
Knicks were manhandled the Dallas Mavericks 103 – 95 as Dirk Nowitzki poured in
19 points and finally, ESPN’s 2nd marque match up of the night featured
the Portland Trailblazers outlasting the LA Lakers 105 – 98 as Mason Plumlee
notched a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
