There were two semi-final games that kicked off last in the National Basketball Association and they both featured some blowouts as I start with the Eastern Conference as the Cleveland Cavaliers coming off of eight days of rest showed no signs of rust as they pounded, pasted and pulverized, Alliteration, I Love It, the Toronto Raptors 116 – 105 as LeBron James had a game high of 35 blistering points along with 10 rebounds for a double-double and was slightly tempted to knock back a cold one from a fan, but declined and instead knocked out the Raptors as they dropped to 1 – 12 in playoff openers. Meanwhile, the Cavs received plenty of help from their stars such as Kyrie Irvin putting in 24 up points and 10 dimes for a double-double of his own. Moving to the Western Conference Semi’s, the Houston Rockets literally spanked the San Antonio Spurs 126 – 99 as James Harden notched 20 points and dished out 14 assists as the Rockets came out swinging and kept delivering haymakers as Trevor Ariza got in on the beat-down and scored a game high of 23 points. In addition, the Rockets notched a franchise playoff record by swishing in 22 3’s and they doubled the amount of players who scored in double figures by three.
