Welcome back to CeeJay’s Spiritual Sports Segment HBCU Edition for the 2017 –’18 Football Season and if you don’t know what HBCU stands for….Google it! Ha! Nonetheless comma I digress as I Sprinkle a Little Spiritually in your Sports! It’s your uncle, your next door neighbor looking out for ya and your shoulder, when you need to lean! Without further delay, Let’s Toss The Rock!!!

Week four in the HBCU college football season finally kicked off some much needed conference play as I ran down scores and highlights in the MEAC as South Carolina State and North Carolina played on Thursday night and it was a good one as Central knocked off the Bulldogs 33 – 28 as Chauncey Caldwell tossed the rock for 2 TD’s and Saturday featured a plethora of games the Mighty Wildcats of Bethune had the lead late against Howard but couldn’t hold on for the win and lost 26 – 24 as quarterback Caylin Newton apparently also had to play running back with 22 rushing attempts for 140 yards and 2 TD’s to boot! Good night! Norfolk State got past Delaware State 17 – 7 as Juwan Carter brought his quarterback cape and put up 292 passing yards and to go along with 2 touchdowns, meanwhile, overtime was needed in this non-conference match up as Monmouth outlasted Hampton 30 – 23 and Delmon Williams was all over the field with 201 passing yards and 2 TD’s, but wait, there’s more! He also had a team high 20 rushing attempts for 77 yards which included a touchdown. Savanah State gave FAMU a run for their money but the Rattlers snaked passed the Tigers 20 – 14 as D’vonn Gibbons rushed the rock for 122 yards and punched it in twice and finally, North Carolina A&T demolished, decimated and dominated, Alliteration, I Love It, Morgan State 49 – 17 as quarterback Elijah Stanley had 303 passing yards and a touchdown to remain undefeated….period.
After Week 4 of play, North Carolina A&T and Central, FAMU, Hampton, Howard and Norfolk State all are 1 – 0 in conference play.

This sports segment is dedicated to all those reeling, recovering and trying to be restored from the devastating effects from Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Maria and the earthquakes in Mexico….may God provide you with all that you need.
