Horford's defense was like smothered chicken! |
Round
2, Round 2! Whatcha gon do!! Another pair of games for Round 2 kicked off
earlier today in the NBA Playoffs as Fear The Deer aka Milwaukee Bucks played
host to the Boston Celtics. It was the dominant and disciplined defense,
Alliteration, I Love It, on the Greek Freek aka Giannis Antetokoumpo that set
the pace for the entire game as he went for 22, but was 7 – 21 from the field
and The Sage Al Horford blocked his shot on Three Occasions and the C’s had 11
blocks for the game! In addition, the Celtics held the Bucks to under 35%
shooting from the field and from the three point arc as Kyrie Irving notched a
double-double with 26 points and 11 dimes and Horford also accumulated a
double-double with 20 points and 11 boards as the Celtics put the transmission
in cruise control to secure the Game 1 victory in the Eastern Conference
semi-final 112 – 90.

The Warriors can breathe after taking Game 1 |
As they said in the 1800's, there’s
gold in dem’ hills as we head west for Game 1 of the Western Conference
semi-final as the well-rested Houston Rockets battled against the wounded
Warriors of Golden State as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson both were nursing
ankle injuries and prior to the start of the game, were listed as questionable.
The Warriors jumped out to an early lead in the 1st period 28 – 19,
but the Rockets answered with their own run in the 2nd. But Momma,
there goes that man named Kevin Durant as he made the nets swish with 35 points
and James Harden likewise had 35, but was 4 – 16 from three and as a team from
the arc, the Rockets shot 14 – 47. Sheesh. While the game was tight in the
waning seconds, Curry swished a 27 foot dagger to put the Warriors up 103 – 98
with less than 35 seconds left and after a technical foul and eventual ejection
of Chris Paul, Curry made the tech free throw to ice the game 104 – 100 as the
Warriors take Game 1.
