Kawhi Leonard willed his team in the double OT victory |
The
Milwaukee Bucks took their 2 – 0 series lead on the road as they were looking
not to go back and forth, but in order to do so, they will need get past the
Toronto Raptors and We The North in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The
Raptors put up 30 in the 1st frame and were aided by the Bucks shooting
7 for 21 as Giannis Antetokounmpo got off to a slow start and really didn’t
recover offensively as he scored a playoff low of 12 points, but did have 23
Big Boy Rebounds, but committed 8 turnovers. Speaking of turnovers, the Bucks
turned the rock over 20 times which led to 21 Raptors points. After being down
by 7 at halftime, the Bucks went on a run to trim the Raptors lead to two and
by the end of regulation, Pascal Siakim, who finished with a double-double of
25 points and 11 rebounds, missed two key free throws with 7.4 seconds left in
the game to break the 96 tie. The Raptors would have to battle in OT without
Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell who both fouled out, but with the play of Marc
Gasol and Siakim, that gave the Raptors much needed injection of offense and
defense. Although he wasn’t as efficient, he still managed to pour in 36 net
popping points along with a key steal with less than two minutes in the final
overtime frame and Kawhi Leonard eventually led his team to the 118 – 112 double
overtime victory as they are now down 1 – 2 in the series.
