He
kept my enemies away, He let the sun shine through a cloudy day! Oh, he wrapped
me in the cradle of his arms, when he knew I'd been battered and torn! If it
had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be?!?!?!

Kyle Lowry show up in Game 4 |
The
Eastern Conference Finals was rolling last night as the Toronto Raptors wanted
to wash, rinse and repeat from their performance in Game 3 to try to even up
the series 2 – 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks but needed a collective effort to
do so. With 50 plus total minutes played in Game 3 for Pascal Siakim and Kawhi
Leonard, they came out of the gate a little sluggish, but their teammates
picked up what they could not put down and held down the fort after trailing 12
– 5 before finding their footing and led 32 – 31 after the 1st
period. The Raptors went on 9 – 0 run to begin the 2nd with Serge
Ibaka’s surging offense as he notched 10 of his 17 points in the 2nd
and added multiple offensive and defensive rebounds as the Raptors led 65 – 55 at
the half. With Kawhi scoring waaaaay below his average of 32 points per game
during the playoffs compared to only 19 points last night, that collective effort
came from Kyle Lowry with 25 points and 6 assists and Marc Gasol chipped in 17
along with a team high of 7 assists. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a much improved
game than he had in Game 3 and put up a double-double with 25 points and 10
boards while Kris Middleton poured in 30, but it was the Raptors bench that put
in yeoman’s work and outscored the Bucks bench 48 – 23 as the Raptors took care
of business on their home court and knotted the series 2 – 2 with the 120 – 102
win.
For
your NBA Quick News & Notes, the Portland Trail Blazers and head coach
Terry Stotts have agreed to a multiyear contract extension as the team announced
yesterday, but the team did not disclose terms and finally, the first five
picks of the 2018 draft would make up the 2019 All-Rookie first team as Deandre
Ayton of the Suns, Marvin Bagley III of the Kings, Luka Doncic of the
Mavericks, Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Grizzlies and Trae Young of the Hawks all have
been selected.
