Kawhi carved the up with his 39 points |
Oooooohweeeeee!
The games in the Eastern and Western Conference Semi’s took us to church Sunday
on the hard court as we kick it off in the East as the Toronto Raptors were
looking to avoid going down 1 – 3 in the series against the Philadelphia 76er’s.
In order for the Raptors to have some semblance of a chance to even the series,
they would need some much needed help from Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka as they
went 12 – 25 for a total of 26 points and a combined 15 rebounds to go along
with Lowry’s 7 assists, but the 76er’s, even with an ill Joel Embiid, kept the
pace with 29 points from Jimmy “Buckets” Butler and the 76er’s had all their starters
in double figures. But they no answer for the Quiet Assassin in Kawhi Leonard
as he finished with 39 Big Time points and 14 glass grabbing rebounds as the
Raptors did just enough to notch the win 101 – 96 as they wrestled home court
back to their advantage and even the series 2 – 2.

Jamal puts up the floater for 2 of his 34 points |
Let’s
head out West as the Portland Trailblazers laced them up against the Denver
Nuggets as they head back to the court after that thrilling quadruple double OT
game in which the Nuggets got the win. But new day and new game as the Blazers didn’t
appear to be lethargic, listless or lackadaisical, Alliteration, I Love It, and
took a 63 – 57 lead into the half. But hoooooold up wait a minute the Blazers
only put 14 in it in the 3rd and was outscored by the Nuggets by 13,
but bounced back in the 4th. But the game came down to a like a sea
saw on the playground as both teams traded free throws as Jamal Murray was
nothing but clutch, clutch, clutch and clutch again from the charity stripe as
he finished 11 – 11 for the game and had a game high of 34 points and Nikola
Jokic netted his fourth triple double of the playoffs with 21 points, 11
rebounds and 12 assists as the Nuggets edged the Blazers 116 – 112 to even the
series 2 – 2.
For
your Non Stat NBA News, in the first nine games of the playoffs, Toronto
Raptors Kawhi Leonard became the first player in NBA history to average 30
points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists on an effective field goal percentage greater
than 65.
