Draymond & Steph, 1st teammates to notch a triple-double in the playoffs |
The
Portland Trailblazers were seeking some type of mojo at the Moda Center as they
faced a must win or a must go home in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals
against the Golden State Warriors! Both teams were playing like they were at
Rucker’s Park with some pick up ball action as they were scorching hot in
shooting the rock and after the 1st frame, Golden State led by one
36 – 35. The Blazers kept up the pressure in the 2nd frame
especially with the career high night from with Myles Leonard who finished with
a double-double of 12 rebounds and the highest points he has ever scored in
college or in the NBA of 30 points and the Blazers took a 69 – 65 lead into
halftime. The Blazers went on a run late in the 3rd and much like
the previous three games, put the Warriors in a gigantic and grand double digit
deficit, Alliteration, I Love It, and went up by 17 as the Blazers backcourt in
CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard, finally matched the Warriors backcourt in point
production of Klay Thompson and Steph Curry with 54 points, but the Warriors
mindset is that they are never out of the fight and with God your side, neither
are you, however comma I digress!

Golden State Warriors: Western Conference Chanmpions |
With less than five minutes left in the 4th,
McCollum missed an 18 foot jumper and with a layup by Steph Curry, it tied the
game at 104 and neither team could one up the other and ended regulation tied
at 111. In overtime, both teams went back and forth, back and forth until
Draymond Green, who is shooting 20% from the arc, nailed the eventual go ahead
three and finished with another triple-double of 18 points, 14 boards and 11
dimes and his point guard Curry, also finished with a triple-double of 37
points, 13 boards and 11 dimes as the pair became the first teammates with a
triple-double in the playoffs and swept the Blazers 119 – 117 to take the Western
Conference crown and became the sixth professional team from North America to
go five straight championships.

Golden State on the way to The Finals |
For
your NBA Quick News & Notes, with Warriors win to earn a trip to The
Finals, they became the first team since the 1966 Boston Celtics to advance to
five consecutive Finals, Steph Curry is now just the sixth player in NBA
history to score 35 or more points in each of the first four games of a series,
joining Elgin Baylor, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Bernard King and Jerry West
and Tim Connelly, the Denver Nuggets' president of basketball operations, has
turned down an offer to run the Washington Wizards' front office, according to
league sources.
