Thompson & Looney return
for Game 4

The NBA Finals for Game 4 was back in FULL EFFECT last night in the Golden State of California as the Warriors of the that Golden State were looking to bounce back from the Game 3 loss against the Toronto Raptors! Speaking of being back in FULL EFFECT, Klay Thompson aka Splash Brother #2, who was out in Game 3 hobbled by a tweaked hammy was back on the court and Kevon Looney, who was out completely for the rest of The Finals due to a nondisplaced first costal cartilage fracture, whew, say that three times, on his right side, also played last night after a little juice injection for the pain.

The 1st quarter started sloppy for both teams as they collectively committed a total of five turnovers in the first three minutes of the game and shot 16 of 40 for said quarter. The first points of the game didn’t come until the 9:41 mark with a 23 foot jumper from Steph Curry and the Warriors defense was much improved and the addition of Kevon Looney paid dividends with 6 points off the bench as the Warriors lead 23 – 17 after one period of play. The Raptors in the 2nd frame regained their defensive composure and was assisted by going to the free throw line 11 times by the end of the 2nd compared to only four by the Warriors and the Raptors went on outscore the Warriors by two, but the Warriors maintained enough to take a 46 – 42 lead into the half.

Kawhi Leonard was stellar
with offense & defense
The 3rd quarter which usually is dominated by the Warriors witnessed it being dominated by the Raptors as they unleashed a J.P.A. (Jurassic Park Attack) that was fueled by Kawhi Leonard aka The Claw with his 17 points in the frame as he finished the game with a double-double of 36 basket filling points and 12 rebounds and committed thievery 4 times and the Raptors gave the Warriors a taste of their own 3rd quarter medicine and simply outworked them to the tune of 37 – 21 as the Raptors led 79 – 67 en route to the 4th. The Warriors attempted to make things interesting in the 4th as Thompson and Curry combined for 55 for the game, but Curry struggled for most of the night, shooting 9 – 22 from the field and only 2 – 9 from the arc and the team was horrid from the free throw line going 14 – 21 and also committed 19 turnovers which the Raptors converted into 14 points. The Raptors hung on for 105 – 92 win to take a 3 – 1 series lead as they are one game away from their first championship in team history.

Fred VanFleet battered and
bruised and lost as tooth. Geez
For your In Game Non-Stat News, Raptors guard Fred Van Fleet had to exit the game early in the 4th quarter as he was hit with an inadvertent elbow from Shaun Livingston and had to receive seven stitches under his right eye.
