Giannis flushes one down as the Bucks advance |
The
NBA Playoffs had another round of Game 5’s that tipped off last night as we
start in the Eastern Conference as the
Milwaukee Bucks were seeking their first trip to the Eastern Conference Finals
in 18 long years, but they needed to close out the Boston Celtics in order to
do so. The Bucks raced out the gates as if they Feared The Deer and took
control of the game from the start and led 52 – 39 going into the half. With
Kyrie Irving going 6 – 21 from the field and
1
– 7 from the arc, the Celtics had no chance and overall, the C’s shot 31% from
the field and 17% from three pointer…ouch. The Bucks witnessed seven of their
players reaching double figures in scoring with Giannis Antetokounmpo netting
20 points, 8 boards and 8 assists as the Bucks stomped, stymied and stampede,
Alliteration, I Love It, the Celtics 116 – 91 to close out the series and wait
to play either the Philadelphia 76ers or the Toronto Raptors in the East Final.

The Warriors take 3 - 2 series lead despite Durant's injury |
The
Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors laced them back up back in
California in the Western Conference Semi as the Warriors were looking to avoid
losing three consecutive games and take a 3 – 2 series lead and they were off
to a phenomenal start and outscored the rockets by 14 in the 1st
frame. The Rockets shot started to fall in the 2nd period as both
teams scored 26 as the Warriors lead at the half by 14. The Rockets flipped the
script in the 3rd and they outscored the Warriors by the exact same
points in 14 and then with Kevin Durant, who is leading the league in the
playoffs with averaging 35.4 points, landed awkwardly after a jumper and limped
off the court with a right calf strain with 2:05 left in the 3rd.
That deflated the Warriors for a bit, but Steph Curry step in and stepped up
shouldered the scoring for the Warriors as he finished with 25 points and Klay
Thompson had a late lay up the sealed the deal as the Warriors knock off the
Rockets 104 – 99 to take a 3 – 2 series lead.
