Game 6 Western Conference Semi |
There
is only one and true living God and likewise, there was one game on last on the
parquet last night as Game 6 played out in H-Town as the Houston Rockets were
trying to stave off elimination against the Golden State Warriors and earn the
right to go back to California for Game 7, but I digress! The moment was ripe
for the Rockets as the Warriors already depleted of Boogie Cousins, Kevin
Durant was not in the building due to his strained calf and if the Rockets
needed another advantage, Steph Curry was dealing with pain on his dislocated
left fingers. But I digress again!

Klay Thompson took the ship out to sea... |
Both
teams held their own in the 1st and 2nd periods as James
Harden, who finished with a game high of 35 swishing points, but a game high of
6 turnovers and Chris Paul finished with a double-double of 27 points and 11
rebounds, gave their teams a steady diet of offense and the game was tied at 57
at the half despite a total of zero, zilch, zippo, Alliteration, I Love It,
points by Steph Curry, who failed to score in the first half in 102 career
playoff games. But his Splash Brother in Klay Thompson kept the Warrior ship steady
to keep them in the game with 21 1st half points. Speaking of
keeping in the game, with a thin lineup, the Warriors had to employ 6 of 7
bench players as they were like Dottie Peoples hit song, they Showed Up and they
Showed Out by outscoring the Rockets bench 33 – 17…ouch.

...while Steph Curry brought back to the port while putting Chris Paul on skates. |
The Rockets kept up
the pressure in the 3rd and eventually started the 4th with
a 5 point lead with Curry only garnishing 10 points up to that point. But the
Baby Faced Assassin woke up in the 4th and scorched the Rockets for
23 points to finish with a total of 33, which was a career playoff high of
points in the 2nd half and with the Rockets fouling Curry towards
the of the end of the game to stop the clock, Curry went a total of 11 of 11
from the free throw line which accounted for 76 straight free throws in the
playoffs this season as they closeout the game 118 – 113 to advance to the
Western Conference Finals.
